AARP Driver Safety Program

Description: The AARP Driver Safety Program, a classroom driver refresher course for drivers aged 50 and older, will beheld in Wytheville. The course explains the changes that occur in vision, hearing, and reaction times as we age and provides useful driving safety tips for handling these changes. It also includes rules of the road, local driving problems and license renewal requirements. The course, which includes an excellent workbook, video presentations and active group discussions are led by a certified volunteer instructor. Virginia law requires all auto insurance carriers to offer a discount on premiums to qualified graduates of the AARP Driver Safety Program. Policyholders should contact their carriers for more information about such discounts. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Wythe County Community Hospital is sponsoring this very popular course. AARP volunteer instructor, Roger Hudson, will be conducting the course. To register, contact Mary Nichols at WCCH.
